St. Louis-based Centene Corporation (NYSE: CNC) announced today that Mark Eggert has been appointed Executive Vice President, Health Plans, effective November 14, 2007. Mr. Eggert will report directly to Michael F. Neidorff, Centene’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.
Mr. Eggert brings more than 25 years of relevant experience to Centene, most recently as the Associate Vice Chancellor and Deputy General Counsel for Washington University in St. Louis. In this role, he worked extensively on healthcare delivery systems, contracting and regulatory matters for the School of Medicine, which is closely affiliated with the top-ranked Barnes-Jewish Hospital and St. Louis Children’s Hospital. His portfolio also includes extensive experience with legal and strategic challenges in the public, academic and business sectors, including representing major healthcare providers and serving as an Assistant United States Attorney.
Mr. Eggert received an A.B., Magna Cum Laude, from Harvard College, a J.D., Cum Laude, from Harvard Law School and an M.B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis. He is a published author and accomplished speaker on a number of topics in the healthcare field.
