Collection Agency Gears Up for Financial Literacy Fundraising Effort

Collection agency American Profit Recovery announced Monday that it is gearing up for their third year of participation in April’s Collector’s Challenge Month spearheaded by the Association of Credit and Collection’s Professionals. The effort is to raise awareness and funds to support the Association’s International Education Foundation. APR has raised over $4,000 for this initiative in the past two years.

The Collector’s Challenge helps promote and foster better financial literacy through free electronic kits and training courses as well as a free online management training program as a public service to consumers. The goal of the Foundation is to assist consumers in becoming more fiscally minded to help them take charge of their financial life and build better credit, understand their rights as a consumer and more. Employees of collection agency American Profit Recovery will support this effort in many ways including paying for dress-down days in the office, a NCAA bracket challenge, weekly raffles for employees to win prizes and more fun, team building activities. They are also donating $1 for every new “Like” on their Facebook page this month.

The ACA Foundation acts as the philanthropic arm of ACA International, which increases financial literacy and supports research, job training and educational programs in the areas of credit and collections.

“We try very hard to educate the consumer on what they need to do to build and maintain good credit and we hope other collection agencies find the value in doing the same,” says Jeff DiMatteo, a partner at American Profit Recovery. “Through our own resources such as educational blogs and videos and our efforts to support programs like the Collectors Challenge, we feel we are doing our part to help those with credit issues.”

APR also participates in several major ACA initiatives that help them fulfill their mission such as: Ask Doctor Debt, National Credit Education Week, Collectors’ Pledge and others charitable efforts in the community.
