Account Control Technology, Inc. (ACT) has achieved the SAS 70 Type II certification, one of the most rigorous auditing standards for service companies. The audit confirms the reliability, security, availability, and processing integrity of services provided throughout ACT’s operational centers. The SAS 70 (Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70) Type II examination is a widely recognized auditing standard developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
As Don Taylor, president, explains, “In today’s high risk, data-centric world, it is critical for us as a service organization to demonstrate that ACT has the proper processes and safeguards in place to protect and maintain data belonging to our national customer base.” SAS 70 certification confirms ACT’s ongoing commitment to internal financial and security controls and compliance within corporate governance. The audit report includes detailed testing of the organization’s controls, as well as the auditor’s opinion as to whether or not those controls are sufficient in meeting the organization’s objectives. “This opinion by a renowned third-party auditor confirms what our clients have experienced for years,” says CEO, Dale Van Dellen. “They demand reliability, security, and 100% uptime, which we achieve through adherence to the industry’s best practices.”
“Achieving SAS 70 Type II certification provides our clients with the verification that ACT has effective and efficient control processes in place within the most critical departments of our organization,” states Lynn Heineman, Vice President of Sales. “With the market being sensitive to the protection of data and assurances of controls, this certification provides a confirmation to our clients that we take the protection and the security of data seriously within our organization.” The comprehensive audit reviewed ACT’s infrastructure, including physical and electronic security measures, business continuity and disaster plans, systems and network accessibility, encryption systems and controls within Human Resources and Accounting Departments. The results of this audit validate necessary and appropriate controls and completeness of ACT’s organization.
For nearly 20 years, ACT has dedicated its resources to the successful recovery of educational debt and has not wavered from its original commitment to provide outstanding service and exceptional recoveries.
