The Medical-Dental-Hospital Business Associates (MDHBA) elected its 2007-2008 Officers and Board of Directors during its annual meeting last week in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Officers who were elected include: President John Boettcher, CPBE, owner, BC Services, Inc., Longmont, Colo.; President-Elect Roxie Kracl, CPBE, director, Credit Bureau Services, Inc., Fremont, Neb.; Treasurer Philip Rosenthal, CPBE, Vice President, HealthCare Associates, Inc., Alexandria, Va.; and Secretary Curt Flynn, vice president, MAF Collection Services, Tampa, Fla.
Scott Koenig, CPBE, president, General Audit Corp., Lima, Ohio, will serve as immediate past president. Additional Board members include: Duane Erickson, CPBE, marketing director, Credit Services of Oregon, Inc., Roseburg, Ore.; Bill Hopkinson, CPBE, president, Charlottesville Bureau of Credits, Inc., Charlottesville, Va.; Mike Landrum, CPBE, vice president, sales & marketing, E.A. Uffman & Associates, Baton Rouge, La.; and Eric Mock, CPBE, president, Medical Business Bureau, LLC, Park Ridge, Ill.
The Medical-Dental-Hospital Business Associates is a nation-wide network of independent businesses that provide accounts receivable management services and products to the healthcare industry.
The organization also presented several awards during its conference. The Robert T. Hellrung Award was presented to John H. Bedard, Jr., attorney, Franzen & Salzano, PC, Norcross, Ga. This award recognizes individuals for their contributions to the medical economics profession and to MDHBA.
David G. Morrisey, CPBE, director of development, General Audit Corp., Lima, Ohio, received the 2007 President’s Award, presented annually to an individual or individuals who did the most to advance MDHBA’s interests during his or her tenure as President.
John Boettcher, CPBE, owner, BC Services, Inc., Longmont, Colo., was the recipient of the 2007 Elmer Award for his ncontribution to MDHBA’s organizational activities.
And, MDHBA’s Fred Kirschner Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to James E. Leatham, CPBE, president, Regional Collection Services, Inc., Marietta, Ohio. The award was created to honor Fred Kirschner for his dedication and service to MDHBA. This Award recognizes an association member who has made innumerable and valuable contributions to the healthcare industry as a leader, teacher and consultant.
