Genpact (NYSE:G), which manages business processes for companies around the world, today announced it has been named best global business process outsourcing (BPO) provider by the Brown-Wilson Group’s 2008 ranking of the “Top 50 Best Managed Global Outsourcing Vendors,” also known as the Black Book of Outsourcing. The annual listing also ranked Genpact #8 among 4,500 outsourcing vendors, marking the company’s second Top Ten appearance in four years.

“Genpact is honored to be named one of the world’s Top Ten outsourcing providers and the best overall BPO provider,” said Genpact President and CEO Pramod Bhasin. “By talking to end users and gathering feedback regarding their outsourcing relationships, we feel that the Brown-Wilson Group has captured a valuable measurement of our industry’s performance. Our team of global professionals constantly strives to develop new and innovative ways to help our clients improve their business processes and it is extremely rewarding to know how much our clients value our commitment to continuous improvement.”

Developed in 2004, the annual study recognizes excellence among global service providers that demonstrate leadership and outstanding performance in the areas of C-Level Commitment, Corporate Direction, Leadership Impact and Human Capital Development. The Black Book ranking is recognized as the only independent industry standard for customer satisfaction in the global services industry. In compiling the ranking, the Brown-Wilson Group surveyed over 300,000 global outsourcing users compiled from various sources. After an extensive auditing process, the rankings were determined based on the responses of nearly 24,000 client executives.

“Since first appearing on the 2004 Black Book ranking, Genpact has continued to explore new frontiers in outsourcing while demonstrating positive momentum and growth in each of the survey’s four areas of emphasis,” said Doug Brown, principal of the Brown-Wilson Group. “The company’s clients value its platform-based services and the close, collaborative working relationships that extend from the executive leadership down to the service delivery teams.”

Nearly 1,700 suppliers from 45 countries qualified for the 2008 Black Book 50, based on client nominations. The survey results also predict an increase in the number of bundled outsourcing offerings, encompassing both information technology and business processes, as well as an increase in finance and accounting contracts in the banking and financial services sector.

Tiger Tyagarajan, Genpact’s Executive Vice President commented, “This award reflects the value our clients attach to our unique combination of best-in-class BPO with robust IT support and end-to-end reengineering of processes in order to deliver optimum business impact.”

Black Book 50 Methodology
The fifth annual Black Book survey for Brown-Wilson Group’s "50 Best-Managed Global Outsourcing Vendors" was distributed electronically to customers, employees, buyers, contractors and users world-wide and available at www.theblackbookofoutsourcing.com. In March, surveys were sent to the nearly 30,000 outsourcing decision makers who were verified in the previous surveys, followed by 400,000 additional invitations sent to individuals in corporations, businesses, organizations and government agencies who use, offer and are employed in outsourcing services or pre-registered for the survey on the Black Book website. Survey entry access codes were available only one time per outsourced function. The survey closed on May 12, 2008. The 26 key performance indicators of vendor satisfaction with supplier leadership are posed with a scoring basis of 0 to 10 (0= deal breaking dissatisfaction and 10= overwhelming exceeded expectations) per criteria. Additionally, 18 key performance indicators in operational excellence are also balloted for later study and custom reporting throughout 2008 for outsourcing clients, buyers, prospective users, analysts, consultants, media and investors.
