Executive Change: Lawrence A. Laskey Joins Windham Professionals as General Counsel

Windham Professionals, Inc. would like to extend a warm welcome to Vice President and General Counsel Lawrence A. Laskey.  Laskey is coming to Windham with over 30 years of corporate legal experience, including nearly 14 years of service as Vice President and Legal Counsel for a nationally known collection agency.

“Larry has a great depth of knowledge, both with regulatory compliance and agency operations,” noted Windham President and CEO Erin Zaldastani. “Larry will have an active role on our executive team as Windham’s General Counsel.”

Laskey is well-versed in the student loan industry. In addition to being a long-term member of the NCHELP Debt Management Committee, Laskey also is a member of the NCHELP Private Loan Committee and ACA International’s Members Attorney Program. Laskey is a subject matter expert on industry regulatory matters such as the FDCPA, TCPA, and HEA, as well as in the areas of privacy rights and communications technology.

“Our entire team is excited to have Larry join our organization,” said Zaldastani. “He has had a leadership role in helping all student loan focused collection agencies understand case law directly affecting our industry, as well as clear and concise analysis of pending or recently passed legislation important to our successful operations.”

Laskey is coming to Windham during a time of great expansion, and he expressed his excitement at the opportunity to be involved.

“Windham is growing,” said Laskey. “I was very fortunate to be in a position where they thought I could help with that growth.”

Larry obtained his Juris Doctorate from Syracuse University College of Law (Summa Cum Laude) and his Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst (Magna Cum Laude). He lives in Chicago, Ill., with his wife and five children.
