Convergent, a large, diversified business process outsourcing, revenue cycle and receivables management company, announced today that Michael G. Meyer has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer for the Outsourcing Group. Derek A. Pickell, President of Convergent Heathcare, has added the title of Chief Executive Officer for the Healthcare Group. Both men in their new capacities will report directly to the Convergent Board of Directors.
Current Convergent CEO Michael A. Micek has announced his decision to retire from his day-to-day operating role effective January 1st, 2013. He will remain both on the company’s board and as a part-time employee with a focus on financial and regulatory issues. “After 25 plus years in the business process outsourcing industry, I’m looking forward to a little more personal and family time while still remaining involved with Convergent,” said Micek.
During his five years as CEO, Micek expanded the company’s Outsourcing, Receivables Management and Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management businesses, including improvements to the company’s technology and operating processes and a 30% increase in the number of Convergent call centers. He also was instrumental in the creation of the Contact Center Solutions division, which offers world-class voice, IVR and online contact solutions and is a natural extension of Convergent’s work with its utility clients over the years.
“I’m pleased to have this opportunity to lead such an important part of our company,” said Outsourcing CEO Mike Meyer. Meyer joined Convergent in 2011 with more than 20 years experience in both business management and business development. He began his career at IBM and Ernst & Young, then joined Outsourcing Solutions, Inc. (OSI), where he spent nearly ten years in a variety of senior leadership positions in technology, operations and sales. Meyer has also held senior positions at Sherman Capital Markets and Zwicker & Associates.
Healthcare CEO Derek Pickell has nearly 30 years experience providing revenue cycle outsourcing, professional services, and information system solutions to hospitals and physicians. Prior to joining Convergent, he was a senior manager in the Revenue Management Solutions division of McKesson.
“I’m proud to see these two fine executives advance to the CEO level of their respective Groups,” remarked Micek. “We’ve worked hard to strengthen our management ranks and these two guys are great examples of that. I look forward to working with them in the future from a Board perspective as they continue to grow our company.”
