A debt collection agency that is one of the fastest growing companies in northern Florida recently opened a new collection center in southern Georgia, the company’s first location in that state.
Jacksonville, Fla.-based Enhanced Recovery Corporation (ERC) was named last week to Jacksonville Business Journal’s list of the Top 50 fastest growing companies in the area for the sixth straight year. As if to punctuate its continued growth, ERC announced the opening of a new call center in Waycross, Ga.
The new facility in Waycross will house some 300 people when fully staffed. The company has already hired 40 since opening the site in June.
“Right now we’re training people,” Tom Clement, senior vice president at ERC told insideARM. Clement said that ERC will ramp up hiring based on client need.
ERC said in a statement that it spent $5.5 million on renovations for the new office. “Expanding into Georgia is just one more step in meeting our future growth objectives,” commented CEO Mark Thompson.
The Georgia call center is another tangible example of the company’s rapid growth since its inception.
Just last week, the company was ranked #17 on a list of the fastest growing companies in the Jacksonville area. Founded in only 1999, ERC has been on the list for six straight years now.
“It’s easy to get on the list when you’re a young company, but it’s pretty tough to stay there year after year,” said Thompson.
Thompson also remarked that “staying on top is a matter of having the right employees and providing them with great place to come to work.”
The company operates two call centers in Jacksonville with a capacity of 500 collectors. ERC currently employs 500 people across its three offices.
The agency focuses on third and first party collection work for financial services, retail, and telecom clients.
