The Georgia lawyers and legal community collected and contributed 612,497 of food to the state’s seven food banks during the inaugural “Georgia Legal Food Frenzy,” a drive to reduce hunger statewide.
Danah Craft, executive director of the Georgia Food Bank Association, said the competition engaged a total of 220 law firms and legal organizations representing 15,621 employees in 51 cities across the state.
Individual category winners include:
Large Attorney Firm: Frederick J. Hanna & Associates
Medium Attorney Firm: Coleman Talley
Small Attorney Firm: McRae Brooks Warner
Sole proprietorship: The Law Offices of Alex Susor
Legal organization per capita: State Court of Clarke County
Legal organization total pounds: Office of the Attorney General
Legal organization, corporate division: Georgia Power General Counsel
“I am exceedingly proud of the Georgia legal community for their overwhelming commitment to Georgia’s less fortunate families struggling with hunger,” Georgia State Attorney General, Sam Olens said Monday. “These donations will assist our food banks providing balanced, nutritional meals to families over the summer, especially children who rely on free or reduced lunches during the school year.”
